- Description:
- The latest findings from the Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) show that a complete repair of the northern sheet pile wall route of the Rhine-Herne Canal (RHK) in Essen and Gelsenkirchen in the two construction areas of canal km 18.80 to 19.90 and canal km 20.20 to 20.75 is required. The failure of the anchors due to corrosion causes the sheet pile walls to deviate from the vertical and thus endangers the general stability.
Based on the cooperation agreement between the WSV and the Emschergenossenschaft (EG), the EC is responsible for the implementation leading this measure. The client (AG) is the Emschergenossenschaft with its registered office at Kron-prinzenstrasse 24 in 45128 Essen. The EC is implementing the necessary services for the repair of the northern sheet pile route of the RHK in the above-mentioned areas in accordance with the specifications of the WSV. The provision of the necessary services is divided into three sections. The services of the individual specialists are closely interlinked. Unless otherwise described, this description of services applies to all lots.
The distribution of lots is as follows:
•Lot 1: special civil engineering (Introduction of the sheet pile wall, production of the anchors including strapping, earthworks excavation pits),
•Lot 2: Explosive ordnance sounding (for the sheet pile wall and anchor routes),
•Lot 3: Landscaping and path construction (fences, clearing work, topsoil work, construction road, service route, ecological measures).
