- The University Hospital Aachen intends to implement the revised security concept of the stairwells in the main building of the University Hospital RWTH Aachen including locks. On December 23, 1996, a fire broke out in an electrical weight near the C3 stairwell. This fire event showed serious weaknesses in the previous security concept for the smoke -free storage and smoke extraction of the stairwells. Based on these experiences, the security concept of the stairwells including locks was revised and with the conversion planning of the security ventilation for the Staircase nuclei started. According to the fire protection statement at the time, the existing pressure ventilation systems of the staircase nuclei should be replaced by flowering plants. . The commissioning for both circuit diagrams takes place in subsequent levels: 1st stage: work packages 3.1, 3.2, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 2. Level: work packages 5.2, 7.2, 8.1, 8.2
