  sixty years after the reconstruction of the Roonstrasse synagogue in Cologne, the Jewish community in Cologne is confronted with the need for a fundamental renovation and upgrading of the building. Many rooms are not sufficient for today's claims for use and theentire building technology is dependent. In addition to this upgrading, the Jewish community would like to use the renovation of adapting the building to a changed demographic and social position.
  The planned redesign is under two guiding principles: the start of design qualities of theOriginal architecture from 1899 and the continuation of this design into a future -oriented nature. The Roonstrasse synagogue should continue to be a mirror of its time and carefully be converted into a contemporary and lively house as part of a lived Cologne Judaism.
  1.1Project status and object
  In order to achieve the above -mentioned goals, the SGK (hereinafter also: AG (client)) was developed in mid -2020 a feasibility study and in mid -2021 a implementation concept in which the individual structural measures are examined and described in more detailbecame.
