Implementation of corrosion protection measures for the renovation of the Olympic tent roof in the Munich Olympic Park (Bavaria, Germany). The Olympic tent roof extends over a total area of approximately 78,000 m2 and spans the Olympic stadium, intermediate roofs, the Olympic hall and the Olympic swimming pool. The aim of the planned corrosion protection measures is to gently eliminate corrosion damage that has already occurred, to ensure long-term protection of the affected areas and to renew the corrosion protection of the remaining components.
The measures include renewing the corrosion protection on the following components:
- Ropes (fully closed ropes and bundles of strands),
- Mastheads and bases of the masts
- Lower clevises of the air supports
- Nodes of the tent roof construction
- Sealing of the rope inlets with plastic bellows (on-site production)
In detail, the work includes:
Removal of existing coatings (partially contaminated) by sandblasting (partly sweeping), renovation of Damaged areas on the supporting structure, injection of modifications containing lead-minenni in areas of the rope deflections, new coating of the surfaces, measures to deter birds.
