Description:
The RVK is a modern transport company that has been run by the municipality since 1996. In 1976 the company was created from a merger of the rail and postal bus services. The traffic area extends over the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, the left bank of the Rhine Rhein-Sieg district, the Euskirchen district and the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Leverkusen, Huerth, Bruehl and Wesseling. The RVK thus connects urban agglomerations with sparsely populated, rural areas. With capacity, competence and many years of experience, RVK ensures that people in the... Travel reliably and safely in the region - and in an environmentally friendly, sustainable and innovative way. The RVK bus fleet includes over 600 vehicles, some of which are operated independently and some of which operate on behalf of RVK. The transport network includes 132 lines with a total length of 2,595 km. RVK also serves 58 lines for other transport companies. In total, the RVK covers a distance of around 22.6 million km with around 23 million passengers per year. Most of the RVK buses are already equipped with TFT interior displays. However, not all buses are over yet TFT monitors, RVK will procure at least 100 additional 29-inch TFT interior displays (and up to a total of 350 TFT interior displays) for use in public transport vehicles through a framework agreement.
