Initial situation:
Since 2011, the Office for Building Construction and Building Management has been managing the property inventory of around 1,200 buildings in the city of Karlsruhe using aAccess database. In addition to the buildings, around 37,000 technical systems are also managed. In order to keep an eye on the regulations and deadlines for the large number of these systems, a regulations database was created. The orders required for maintenance (each year).Since 2013, around 16,000 user reports have been sent digitally to the commissioned companies via a Lotus Notes-based application ("malfunction and order management"). In addition, over 3,000 contracts are managed in this application.
The Office for Building Construction and Building ManagementThe city of Karlsruhe is planning to tender for CAFM software to replace these two databases in the near future.
