The new Veddel bridge becomes the most important connection between the historic Veddel district and the new Grasbrook district for people who are on the bike or walk. So it connects the grown with the new and overcomes a wide ribbon to in the north-south directionrunning traffic routes- consisting of the street at Moldauhafen/Am Saalehafen, Rampenstrasse, Tunnelstrasse and on the railway embankment (main harbor route) and a six- or perspective eight-track S- and Fernbahnstrasse. The new district of Grasbrook is located opposite HafenCity, south of theNorderelbe, and is a central component of the city development of the city of Hamburg to the south. In combination with the Veddel district, which is neighboring eastern, the Grasbrook has an important hinge function for Hamburg's "jump over the Elbe" and will in future be supposed to move together from the city and the portAnd in particular embody the development of residential uses in port and industrial proximity.
