Description: The Brandenburg municipality Schönefeld in the district of Dahme-Spreewald adjoins directly in the southeast to the Federal Capital of Berlin and is known as the location of the airport of the same name, now replaced by the airport BER. Due to the special situation of the community in the southeastern developmental axis, which extends from the city center of Berlin via Adlershof and the BER to the Lausitz region, the community has been experiencing a tremendous development pressure for years, which recognizes both housing construction and commercial development.
With the two-phase competition procedure, the community Schönefeld now strives for a reorientation in the structural-spatial development of the district Schönefeld when creating an attractive residential location with a new center for about 8,000 to 10,000 residents.
