Description:
The Pfaffensteig tunnel (new route 4706) is an approx. 11 km two-track, each single-tube railway tunnel. The two tunnel tubes are connected to each other via connecting structures that are less than 500 m apart.
The Pfaffensteig Tunnel is closingin the east to the Stuttgart airport long-distance train station and the airport tunnel of the PFA 1.3a (Stuttgart 21 project). For this purpose, two widening and branching structures are currently being built in the east airport tunnel as part of the construction work on the Stuttgart 21 project, to which the Pfaffensteig tunnel will later be connectedter directly.
The tunnel is driven by conventional mining methods starting from the rescue tunnel on the Fildern on the one hand in the direction of the above-described branch structures in the east airport tunnel and on the other hand in the direction of the launch shaft. Among other things, the LangwThis lake, the new Stuttgart-Ulm route, the federal autobahn (BAB) 8 and a tunnel tube of the airport tunnel east. The tunnel is driven by mining and mechanical means - starting from the starting shaft on the Fildern - in the direction of Boeblinger/Sindelfinger Forst. For this is the useprovided by two tunnel boring machines. Among other things, the West Airport Tunnel, the new Stuttgart-Ulm route, the BAB 8, the U6 tram line, the B 27 federal road, the U5 tram line, the Leinfelden industrial park, the Leinfelden district, the Mahdenbach and Schmellbach valleys...
