- The Cottbus/Neuhausen airfield (ICAO code: EDAP) is a commercial airfield in Neuhausen/Spree, ten kilometers southeast of Cottbus. The municipality of Neuhausen/Spree is the owner of the airfield. It is operated by Flugplatzgesellschaft Cottbus-Neuhausen mbH. Supported by FoeFunding from the state of Brandenburg as part of the "Lausitz Program 2038" is intended to comprehensively expand the airfield and upgrade it to an aviation-related business location. This includes, among other things, the fastening of the runway, the taxiways, the apron and theirlighting. Commercial space is being developed for aviation-related businesses. The location will be equipped with charging infrastructure for electric aircraft drives and a 5G campus network. The construction, delivery and services required for this will be carried out in two construction phasesadvertised in individual EU-wide procedures. According to the current status, construction is scheduled to begin in March 2024 and end in November 2025. The construction phases are currently planned as follows: Construction phase 1: March 2024 to November 2024 Construction phase 2: March 2025 to October 2025 The operation of unmanned aerial vehiclesugen, even out of visual range, should be made possible in regular operations at the Cottbus Neuhausen airfield and in its 10 km radius.
