- Biotope mapping with integrated FFH habitat type mapping is a vegetation-based recording of ecologically valuable areas in the terrain. The biotopes that are worth mapping are drawn in aerial photographs and their most important properties and characteristics are describedrubbed. The task of biotope mapping is to provide an overview of the location, distribution, frequency and condition of the ecologically valuable biotopes in Bavaria, in particular those according to Section 30 BNatSchG/Art.23 Bay-NatSchG and habitat types according to Annex I of the Habitats Directive a uniform throughout Bavariato give a standard. It is the essential basis for FFH management planning and an important prerequisite for preserving rare habitats.
