- The State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture Saxony-Anhalt intends to procure a UV/vis-spectrophotometer.
The UV/vis-spectrophotometer is a device for determining concentrations for solutions, such as bacterial suspensions or nucleic acid extracts. Based on the Lambert Beer Act, the linear dependence between absorption and concentration is used by measuring the light intensity in different wavelengths.
The device must be robust and reliable. It must also be user -friendly, powerful and compact.
The UV/vis-spectrophotometer is used in the phytopathological laboratory for the concentration of bacterial suspensions for the production of positive and negative controls. In addition to determining the cell density of bacterial suspensions, direct DNA/RNA concentration measurement with low volume consumption is crucial for reliable and exact PCR analysis.
