Description:
Delivery of a 50 MW H2 tube storage system to expand the hydrogen infrastructure of the Ulm University of Technology (THU) WAREHOUSE - Hydrogen infrastructure at THU The LAGER project (“Long-term storage in energy-flexible, sector-integrated Properties and Quarters”) is a research and demonstration project at Ulm University of Technology. The aim is to promote cross-sector flexibility of the energy system and the integration of electricity, heat and mobility sectors in energy-flexible properties. A central component is the development and testing of a long-term hydrogen storage system with a capacity of 50 MWh (around 1,500 kg), which enables seasonal energy storage. Further includes that the project aims to set up electrolysis hydrogen production with an output of 40 kWel, (around 0.75 kg H2 production capacity per hour) a heat extraction from the existing hydrogen-fired gas turbine as well as the integration of these systems the existing infrastructure of the THU energy park.
