Description:
For the new building complex of the former Schocken department store, the aim is to convert the existing areas and preserve the external appearance. The four-story new building at Hauptstrasse 11 will set an accent. The Marienplatz 4 building will be demolished and replaced by a new buildingcurrently The facade will be professionally mapped, dismantled and largely rebuilt as is.
The buildings at Hauptstrasse 3 to 9 and Marienplatz 6/8 will be renovated in accordance with listed buildings.
The buildings at Hauptstrasse 7/9 and Marienplatz 6/8 will be extensively renovated Inner courtyard from the 1st floor geplanned. For the buildings at Hauptstrasse 3 and 5, the old structures are to be retained inside and connected to the neighboring building at Hauptstrasse 7 in a barrier-free manner. With access from Mariengaesschen there is a staircase by the Bauhaus architect Bernhard Sturtzkopf, which has been preservednd should be renovated in accordance with listed buildings.
